Washington, D.C. –Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata attended Tuesday’s ceremony at the United States Capitol Rotunda honoring the Capitol Police and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, who responded to the Capitol on January 6, 2021. They were awarded the U.S. Congress’s highest honor — the Congressional Gold Medal.

Washington, D.C. –Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata welcomes the awarding of an annual federal grant of $67,148 from the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to the American Samoa Government for the management of hazardous materials incidents. The grant, awarded to the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security (ASDHS), will help ASG and ASDHS develop, implement, and improve its emergency plans concerning these hazardous materials incidents.

This formula grant is designated for Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners Program.
