Washington, D.C. –Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, and the House Natural Resources Committee conducted a mark-up of several bills on Capitol Hill this morning including H.R. 4576, the Ensuring Access to Pacific Fisheries Act.

Washington, D.C. –Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, and her fellow colleagues from the other four U.S. territories sent a letter to both the House & Senate Judiciary Committees yesterday stating their support for the EB-5 program for immigrant investors.

Washington, D.C. –Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, was invited by Matt Salmon (AZ-05) Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia & the Pacific, to participate in a hearing last Friday entitled, U.S. Policy in the Pacific: The Struggle to Maintain Influence.

Washington, D.C. –Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, and the House Small Business Committee conducted a hearing on small business tax simplification and reform.

Pago Pago –Sunday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, met with the local Chamber of Commerce last week to discuss some of the things happening in Washington that affect the local economy, and what Congress is doing to help the nation’s small businesses, including those American Samoa.

Washington, D.C. –Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, and Alaska Representative Don Young co-introduced the Ensuring Access to Pacific Fisheries Act today, which will help to ensure access to Pacific fisheries for the U.S. fishing fleet that operate in both the North and South Pacific.
