Washington, D.C. –Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata welcomes the awarding of a federal grant of $105,034 from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for maternal and child health services in American Samoa. The grant, awarded by HHS’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will go to the American Samoa Department of Public Health for services from 2022 to 2024.

Known as a Continuing Resolution, the legislation passed the House, then attracted bipartisan support in the Senate and was promptly signed into law by President Biden.
