Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata made a whirlwind series of visits to meet up with Service Members from American Samoa at military installations in five states along the U.S. east coast, including 100 Samoans in one location at Fort Gregg-Adams in Virginia. Over two weekends, and the last week of January, with Congress out for those days, she was able to drive through multiple states for visits to a series of military installations as well as American Legion posts.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is highlighting President Trump’s Executive Order, regarding the placement and activities of United States Coast Guard (USCG) vessels to protect U.S. maritime borders, and reiterated her suggestion that American Samoa’s Pago Pago Harbor is ideally suited to be a station for one or more Coast Guard cutters.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is hailing the pay raise for the military in the final National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2025, passed Wednesday by the House with a vote of 281-140. Under the bill, following negotiated Senate-House agreement, Congress raises pay for all military by 4.5 percent, and for junior enlisted the raise is a substantial 14.5 percent.

Le’iato, now the 43rd Commandant of the U.S. Army Finance and Comptroller School, and Commander of the U.S. Army Finance Corps. Congresswoman Amata’s Chief of Staff, Col. Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is honoring Memorial Day 2024. “Throughout the history of the United States, in every generation, there have been brave Service members who gave all for the country, for others, and the cause of freedom,” said Congresswoman Aumua Amata. “On other important holidays, we honor all our military and veterans as each one has taken on the possibility of making that greatest sacrifice. Memorial Day is special in remembrance of those who never came home from the fields of battle.”
