Amata Congratulates the New CEO of StarKist, Welcomes Working Together

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming the announcement by StarKist of the company’s next President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr. Eunhong (Edward) Min. 

“Congratulations to Mr. Eunhong Min, and all of StarKist,” said Congresswoman Amata. “American Samoa has a long relationship with StarKist as a welcome part of our community. His vast international experience and leadership from global conglomerates including Procter and Gamble, and Dongwon Industries, bodes well for American Samoa’s cannery operation, and I look forward to working with him.” 

Mr. Min has had a distinguished international business career, including multiple high executive roles with Dongwon Industries, StarKist’s parent company, where as CEO he spearheaded transformative initiatives integrating science and technology into the maritime industry. He also served as Executive Vice President at Dongwon Industries and Dongwon Systems, as well as a 30-year career with Proctor and Gamble. He holds a business degree from Yonsei University and completed the Advanced Management Program at Seoul National University.
