Amata Highlights National Nurses Week and Day

May 4, 2022

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is highlighting National Nurses Week (May 6-12) and National Nurses Day (Friday), and sending appreciation to American Samoa’s nurses.

“Thank you, especially during this COVID response, to all the nurses serving right now in American Samoa. Thank you to those who live in the islands and serve our people year-round, and thank you to those from thousands of miles away here to help us through this time.

“This year’s theme is ‘rooted in strength,’ and that describes our resilient and professional nurses. They do a great job, and overcome challenges every day. God willing, one day our medical professionals will have newer and better facilities to serve in, as we continue to make health care resources an ongoing priority.

“To each of you, we deeply appreciate your attentive care to any of our health needs. Your work is an important calling, and nurses are dependable for their knowledgeable, efficient, cheerful ways that help us all through tough times. God bless each of you this National Nurses Week!”
