Amata Holds Town Hall Meeting in Leone

Pago Pago, A.S. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, held her first town hall meeting of the new year on Thursday. The meeting took place at Chief Ve’ave’a’s Guest House in Leone.

“As I’ve said before, these Town Hall meetings are very important to me,” said Amata. “I always look forward to hearing directly from our people, because their feedback is crucial to how I formulate my policies.”

Following opening remarks from HC Magele, Congresswoman Amata spoke to those in attendance about a variety of issues including, citizenship, veterans, federal funding, transportation, and other topics. After listening to their concerns the Congresswoman assured those in the crowd that she will continue to work diligently on their behalf in the coming year.

“I want to thank everyone who came to the meeting. It is very encouraging to see everyone take an interest in our island’s well-being,” said Amata. “We have a very busy year ahead of us, and I want reiterate my ongoing mission to make sure that our people are being properly represented in Washington.”

Congresswoman Amata also expressed her plan to continue holding regular town hall meetings in the future in order to accurately gauge the needs of the local community.
