Amata Honors U.S. Navy for 248th Birthday

October 13, 2023

Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is honoring the U.S. Navy for their 248th birthday, and thanking all who serve in the Navy or are Navy Veterans.

“Happy 248th birthday to our United States Navy!” said Congresswoman Amata. “A special thank you today to all our Sailors, past and present. God bless each of you and your families, we appreciate your service. I am honored and humbled to meet dedicated Service Members all over the world. For example, in August, a U.S. Navy ship that carried important assistance to Bougainville in Papua, New Guinea, following a devastating volcano. Earlier this year in March, I enjoyed catching up to some of our own Toa o Samoa in military installations all along the East Coast of the U.S., including a tour of the U.S.S. Mesa Verde. We’re so proud of our Armed Forces and military families, and today is special to the U.S. Navy!”
