Amata Named Vice Ranking Member of Committee on Small Business

February 4, 2019

Washington, DC – Monday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata announced she has been named Vice Ranking Member of the full Committee on Small Business for the 116th Congress.

"Vice Ranking Member Aumua Amata has served as a dedicated Member of the House Small Business Committee throughout her tenure in Congress. Her work on behalf of small businesses during that time has earned her the rare honor of serving as the Committee's Vice Ranking Member," said Ranking Republican Member Steve Chabot (R-OH). "I look forward to working her throughout the 116th Congress."

Vice Ranking Member Amata is now second in tenure among the Republicans on the Committee, behind long-serving Ranking Member Chabot. The Small Business Committee is formally organizing this week, with five newly named Subcommittees.

"I appreciate the opportunity to serve as Vice Ranking Member on the Committee, and work on behalf of American Samoa and to give small businesses the support they need to keep growing," Aumua Amata said. "Our economy depends on small businesses, and they need the ability to make choices that are right for them, along with support in areas such as capital access, infrastructure and health care. I want to especially thank Ranking Member Chabot for this opportunity and his years of service to the nation's small business community."
