Amata’s Statement Condemning Attacks in Israel
Washington, D.C. — Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata, a Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the following statement condemning the attacks against Israel.
“I’ve had the great joy to visit Israel and to see Jerusalem, an important and historic site to people of faith all over the world. The people of Israel are enduring sudden brutal attacks, loss of life, and destruction. We must stand together in fully condemning this lawless violence, and insisting internationally that Hamas stops this attack without delay. The people of Israel should not have to face the threat of rockets, explosions and indiscriminate killing. The State of Israel is a dependable friend to the United States, and an allied democracy in an important region of the world. I’ve met with Prime Minister Netanyahu, and been briefed on Israel’s security, and there is great respect for the capabilities of the Israel Defense Forces. Our prayers and thoughts, as well as our nation’s diplomatic efforts and strong support, are with the people of Israel in this time.”
