Amata’s Statement in Honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day 2022
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata released the following statement in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day:
“This day has deep meaning for all people who love opportunity and equality. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. dedicated his life to great ideals, and his words still inspire today. His speeches and writings continue to apply throughout the decades. He worked for lasting change through persuasion, appealing to hearts and minds. His ways were peaceful but powerful. He reminded us to love our neighbors, and debate passionately, while seeking peace and unity.
