Washington D.C. -- Congresswoman Aumua Amata spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives today to voice her support for H.R. 527, the Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act.

This important legislation will allow small businesses greater input into the regulations that they are required to comply with. H.R. 527 will also require those regulating agencies to review regulations that are already "on the books" and determine the impacts they are having on small businesses.

"I know that in the Territory of American Samoa, our local economy is absolutely dependent upon small businesses and their success. This legislation will enable those who own small businesses across the nation and the territories to have a greater degree of certainty when planning for the future of their business," stated Amata.

The Small Business Regulatory Flexibility Improvements Act passed the House and will now be sent to the Senate for consideration.
