Amata Welcomes $500,000 in Federal Funds for Ofu Rescue Vehicle
Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed $500,000 in federal funds for a rescue and fire vehicle for the airport serving Manu’a.
“I’m delighted to welcome this federal provision for a dependable rescue and fire vehicle at the airport on Ofu,” said Aumua Amata. “The U.S. Department of Transportation recognized this important need to be able to help save lives and property with the proper equipment. It’s always essential to ensure that all of our islands are served and included in federal resources.”
Specifically, the $500,000 DOT/Federal Aviation Administration grant is designated for the acquisition of the replacement rescue and firefighting vehicle at Ofu, ensuring the airport can operate within the safety regulations.
