Amata Welcomes Health Care Grant

Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed federal funds for American Samoa through the U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Department. This discretionary grant is designated to the American Samoa Department of Health.

The grant provides about $70,000 (specifically $69,976) in support for maternal and child health services.

“This grant is for the health care of our mothers and their small children and babies, so it’s welcome news,” said Aumua Amata. “A special thank you to Dr. Anaise Uso for her important work on this program. Congratulations also to the Health Department and Director Motusa Nua, and thank you to all our doctors, nurses and health care professionals for all they do.”
