Amata Works to Promote Agriculture and Small Businesses
Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata was pleased to participate in a bipartisan Small Business Committee Roundtable discussion focused on the needs of small businesses, and also met with Congressman Glenn Thompson of Pennsylvania to highlight the agricultural needs of American Samoa.
"It was a real pleasure meeting with Congressman Glenn Thompson to highlight the status of American Samoan agriculture," said Aumua Amata. "I appreciate his expertise on agricultural matters and his interest in American Samoa, and I enjoyed the chance to discuss what he saw of our island agriculture in his visit to American Samoa early this year."

Rep. Thompson serves as vice chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, and Chairman of its Subcommittee on Nutrition. He traveled to American Samoa in February to directly observe more about the economy and agriculture of the islands.
