September 29, 2015

Washington, D.C. – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, announced the awarding of an Administration for Children and Families / ACYF - Family and Youth Services Bureau grant in the amount of $70,000 for the Pacific Youth and Community Development's Pasefika Youth Project.

"I am happy to announce that these funds will go directly to help our youth and families in American Samoa. I would like to thank Mr. Tupua Roy Fua, the Project Director, for his outstanding work in getting this grant," says Amata.

The ACYF oversees major federal programs that support the promotion of positive growth and development of children, youth and their families, protective services and shelter for children in at-risk situations and adoption for children with special needs. These programs provide financial assistance to states, community-based organizations, and academic institutions to provide services, carry out research and demonstration activities, and manage training, technical assistance and information dissemination.
