“What a pleasure it was to make that call,” stated Amata. I could not be more proud of Seung Ju, and I look forward to hearing about great things from him in the future. It is a commonly known fact that our military service academies only accept the best and brightest into their programs, and I am proud that our people are represented by such outstanding young men and women,” continued Amata.

The USMA’s mission is to educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, and Country, and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the nation as an officer in the United States Army.

The Academy provides a superb four-year education, which focuses on the leader development of cadets in the academic, military, and physical domains, all underwritten by adherence to a code of honor.

“I suspect that this will be just the first in what I hope becomes many phone calls of this nature, that I make,” said the Congresswoman. “I want to encourage our young people here in American Samoa to reach for those loftiest of goals, when pursuing their education. It is through their advancement and learning that our island will continue to grow and develop in a positive way, and I look forward to seeing the contributions they make,” concluded Amata.
