“As we gather together this Memorial Day with friends and family, let us all take a moment to remember those who have given so much for our nation, and give thanks for their ultimate sacrifice.

It is their answer to the call of service, and ultimately their unforgettable sacrifice that we salute. Without these brave men and women we would not enjoy the freedom we cherish so much today, and it is our duty to keep them alive in our hearts.

Let us also keep in our hearts and prayers, the brave service members both here at home and abroad, who at this very moment are steadfastly watching over our nation, as well as their families who await their return.

God bless our service members, American Samoa, and the United States.”
