Close Up Students Visit U.S. Capitol

May 22, 2024

Washington, DC – The office of Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata was delighted to welcome American Samoa’s Close Up student delegation Wednesday for lunch in the congressional office, including Samoan food, and then guide their tour of the U.S. Capitol.

The students are in Washington, D.C. with the Close Up Foundation civic education program as part of their extensive visit to the nation’s capital region.

“My office loves to be part of this yearly visit on their trip to the capital city,” said Congresswoman Aumua Amata. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our young people including travel, sightseeing, history and learning, and the students always seem to be enjoying themselves. Thank you to everyone involved with this great program, and this investment in our future leaders.”
