Congresswoman Amata in a Small Business Committee vote early in 2020

Washington, D.C. – Saturday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata is reminding small businesses and employers that the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) re-starts Monday. On Friday afternoon, President Trump signed the $484 billion Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, which passed the House late Thursday with an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 388-5.

Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata is welcoming $411,385 in CARES Act funds for American Samoa's health priorities through the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department.

These CARES Act resources are for the Territory to work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on improving mortality, expanding testing, better tracking of any cases, managing any high-risk areas or populations, monitoring health system capacity, and containment.

Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata is welcoming more than $2.2 million through the recent CARES Act for American Samoa's law enforcement community to use for coronavirus emergency response and safety measures.

Specifically, the U.S. Department of Justice, led by Attorney General William Barr, through the Office of Justice Programs and the Bureau of Justice Assistance, is awarding Fiscal Year 2020 Coronavirus Emergency Supplemental Funding (CESF) to the American Samoa Criminal Justice Planning Agency in the amount of $2,231,620.
