Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata highlighted March as Women's History Month, and noted she is an original cosponsor of the Resolution in Congress honoring and supporting the ideals of National Women's History Month.

This Resolution, H. Res. 171, is led by Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA), along with original support from Rep. Amata, Rep. Ed Case (D-HI), Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), and others, and has been joined by well over 100 Members of both parties.

"The reports from New Zealand are heartbreaking. We are mourning with them today. In American Samoa, we think of the other Pacific islands as neighbors, we come together with them for major sporting events, and many of us have had reason to travel to New Zealand. I've met with many of our wonderful community of Samoan friends living there.
