Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is sending out special appreciation to teachers this Teacher Appreciation Week (May 5-9) and National Teacher Day (May 6).
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is commending passage by both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives of the Take It Down Act, S. 146, which has been sent to President Trump to be signed into law. The Act combats non-consensual explicit imagery of people, created by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other visual technology, which can be misused to humiliate or monetarily exploit people without their permission, consent, or in some cases their knowledge of their imagery online.
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata has cosponsored new bipartisan legislation, together with the Representatives of the four affected territories, to remove Medicaid funding caps, a point of fairness. The Medicaid Improvement for Insular Areas Act of 2025, was sponsored by Rep. Kimberlyn King-Hinds (CNMI), with original cosponsors Rep. Aumua Amata (American Samoa), Rep. James Moylan (Guam), and Rep. Stacey Plaskett (USVI).

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata visited Israel as part of a bipartisan delegation for meetings with national leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, participation in the Yom HaShoah observance, Holocaust Remembrance Day. While in Israel, the delegation also met families of the hostages from the October 7, 2023 attacks, and visited the U.S. Embassy, where they greeted the U.S. Marines on duty there.
