This is an assistance option that was passed by Congress in the most recent COVID response legislation, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, and became available through a Small Business Administration (SBA) portal just this week.

Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata welcomed a $100,000 health grant from the American Rescue Plan Act, passed by Congress this year and signed into law in March.
The discretionary grant to the American Samoa Department of Health for home visiting is from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata welcomed a grant of over $400,000 for American Samoa's Head Start program through the U.S. Health and Human Services Department (HHS).
Specifically, the discretionary grant of $400,891 is directed to the American Samoa Department of Education, and designated for Head Start as emergency supplemental funding. These federal funds are distributed through the Administration for Children and Families.
