I am happy to see that the President-elect has chosen Dr. David Shulkin to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Shulkin is currently serving as the Under-Secretary of Health with the Department of Veterans Affairs, and acts at the Chief Executive of the Veterans Health Administration in that role.

Washington, D.C. –Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, successfully introduced an amendment to the House Rules, which will allow Delegates from the five U.S. territories to act as Chairman of the Committee of the Whole (COTW).

WASHINGTON, D.C., December 19, 2016 - On Friday, the President signed H.R. 6452 into law. The "Ensuring Access to Pacific Fisheries Act" implements the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fisheries Resources in the North Pacific Ocean, the Convention on the Conservation and Management of High Seas Fishery Resources in the South Pacific Ocean, and the amendments to the Convention on Future Multilateral Cooperation in the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries.
