Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata took part this week in a historic bipartisan Congressional Delegation (CODEL) to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), led by House Committee on Natural Resources Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.), that traveled to the island nation of the Federated States of Micronesia, meeting with top-ranking officials in the Micronesian government.

The Members of Congress viewed and assessed the fire’s devastating impacts, received briefings from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), met with Governor Josh Green, and discussed the immediate needs of the people of Maui with Members of Congress from Hawaii.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata took part in an international field hearing of the Committee on Natural Resources on August 24th in Guam, led by Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.), examining the importance of the U.S. Pacific Territories and the Freely Associated States (FAS) to the United States’ ability to counter the People’s Republic of China’s malign influence, and maintain national and allied strategic interests in the region.





Canberra, Australia – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is taking part in a Congressional Delegation to Australia led by Chairman Mike Gallagher of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, in which the Members of Congress participated in the Australian American Leadership Dialogue (AALD), and bolstered the AUKUS alliance, a security pact among Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States that is key to Pacific security and stability.
