Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming final Senate passage on Friday of a bipartisan House bill she co-introduced, the FISHES Act, H.R. 5103. The legislation has been sent to President Biden to become law.
Amata is one of a bipartisan group of 11 original cosponsors at introduction, primarily from coastal districts, led by sponsor Congressman Byron Donalds of Florida, and including Congressman James Moylan of Guam.
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming final passage of the bipartisan Social Security Fairness Act, H.R. 82, which she cosponsored. The bill originated in the House and has now been sent to President Biden to be signed into law, among a flurry of completed bills as the 118th Congress closes.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata took part in a ten-member Congressional Delegation (CODEL) to Barbados, following Thanksgiving Day, at the invitation of Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, in which Members of Congress joined the people of Barbados in commemorating their 58th Independence Day, and honored the legacy of historic Barbadian-American Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm on what would have been her 100th birthday.
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is applauding the nomination of her colleague Congressman Mike Waltz of Florida, a former Green Beret, as National Security Advisor.
Reps. Amata and Waltz serve together on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and its Subcommittee on the Indo-Pacific. Congressman Waltz also works directly on national security issues as part of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and the House Armed Services Committee.
