Phoenix, AZ – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, a Member of the U.S. House Veterans Affairs Committee (HVAC), made her first visit to a VA facility on the mainland, since joining the committee in January.
Washington, D.C. – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata participated in a House Veterans Affairs Economic Opportunity Subcommittee hearing entitled: A Review of Higher Education Opportunities for the Newest Generation of Veterans.
Washington, D.C. – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata leant her support as an original cosponsor to the Boosting Rates of American Veteran Employment (BRAVE) Act, a bill introduced by her colleague on the House Veterans Affairs Economic Opportunity Subcommittee, Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY).

Washington, DC- Congresswoman Aumua Amata participated in two Joint Congressional Veterans Committee hearings this week. Both hearings were dedicated to the legislative agendas of two important veteran advocacy organizations for the 114th Congress. The first hearing focused on the agenda presented by Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the second on the priorities of the American Legion.

Washington D.C. -- Congresswoman Aumua Amata participated today in a House VA Committee Hearing entitled, "U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2016".
During the hearing, VA Secretary, Robert McDonald spoke about the VA's budget request for FY 2016 and certain structural changes happening within the VA that will increase efficiency and refocus VA efforts on serving veterans.
