Pago Pago – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed a STOP Violence Against Women federal grant of $617,983 for services in American Samoa.

This federal funding to the American Samoa Criminal Justice Planning Agency is through the U.S. Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), led by Principal Deputy Attorney General Laura L. Rogers. OVW is part of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), under Attorney General William Barr.

Pago Pago – Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata hailed reauthorization this past Thursday of the Women Veterans Task Force, on which she serves, by the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.

Pago Pago – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed notification of federal funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) of $436,368 for the American Samoa EPA.

"Congratulations especially to Director Fa'amao Asalele upon this grant notification, part of a five year plan," said Aumua Amata. "Federal funds like these are essential to our local services. In this case, funding is for efforts to protect drinking water and other environmental services. Thank you to everyone at ASEPA."
