Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed over $1 million in federal funds through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for American Samoa's coastal management.
"This grant will provide funding for the Territory's coastal management efforts," said Aumua Amata. "In this program, NOAA and American Samoa are partners in the shared goals of keeping our coastlines healthy, beautiful and useful."
Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed nearly $100,000 in federal funds through the U.S. Health and Human Services (HHS) Department for American Samoa's Family Professional Partnership and Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN) programs.
"This grant will ultimately benefit children and families with special health care needs," said Aumua Amata. "I'm pleased to welcome health care assistance to American Samoa, an area where federal resources make a tremendous difference."

Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed $657,646 in federal funds through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security for a variety of tsunami preparations.
"This grant will provide funding for the American Samoa Tsunami Ready Sustainment Initiative," said Aumua Amata. "NOAA recognized the importance for American Samoa's systems and personnel to be ready for action in the event of a tsunami."

Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed $500,000 in federal funds for a rescue and fire vehicle for the airport serving Manu'a.
"I'm delighted to welcome this federal provision for a dependable rescue and fire vehicle at the airport on Ofu," said Aumua Amata. "The U.S. Department of Transportation recognized this important need to be able to help save lives and property with the proper equipment. It's always essential to ensure that all of our islands are served and included in federal resources."

McCain National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2019, H.R. 5515, in a signing ceremony at Fort Drum, New York, where the President and Vice President Pence visited troops and toured the military installation. The new law builds on the recent improvements in the 2018 NDAA and provides for increased troop levels, higher pay, and other support for the men and women in our Armed Forces.
