Haines Award as the Outstanding State or Territorial Society of the Year within the National Conference of State and Territorial Societies (NCSS). The prestigious award was announced in Washington, D.C., at the Cherry Blossom Grand Ball, the leading event of the 2017-2018 year.
Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomes another federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) of $256,864 for American Samoa. The Pacific Basin Grant is offered under the Health Center Cluster Program of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata honored the remarkable life of former First Lady Barbara Bush, only the second in history along with Abigail Adams to be both the wife and mother of Presidents of the United States. Mrs. Bush passed away late Tuesday at 92 but leaves a rich legacy that includes a dedication to her country, her family, and promoting reading.

Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed a federal grant of $61,555.00 to LBJ Tropical Medical Center for emergency children's healthcare programs.
"I appreciate this support for health care in American Samoa," said Aumua Amata. "Access to necessary health services can sometimes be a challenge in American Samoa, so federal support like this helps assist underrepresented children and children with special health needs receive much needed care."
Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed a $200,000 grant for American Samoa from the U.S. Department of Commerce based on the Middle Class Tax Relief and Job Creation Act of 2012 which mandated the creation of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).
