Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Uifaatali Amata spoke on the House floor in support of her bipartisan small business bill, which was passed by the full House and sent to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
In September, Congresswoman Amata introduced the bipartisan bill in collaboration with Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pennsylvania). The Parity for HUBZone Appeals Act (H.R. 8229) directs the Small Business Administration (SBA) to authorize the Office of Hearings and Appeals (OHA) to hear HUBZone appeals.
Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Uifaatali Amata thanked retiring Ranking Member Dr. Phil Roe in his final hearing of the full Committee on Veterans' Affairs (HVAC), as the Committee's hearing included work on legislation he sponsored. Dr. Roe has served 12 years with dedication in Congress, in addition to his service in the Army and as a physician.

Washington, D.C. – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed a 2020 National Coastal Resilience Fund (NCRF) grant that is directed to shoreline erosion improvement at Lions Park, Tutuila. The grant is for project final design and permitting in the effort to create a living shoreline along Lions Park to enhance the critical estuarine habitat in the adjacent Pala Lagoon.
Washington, D.C. – Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed House passage of a bipartisan effort she has supported, the National Sea Grant College Amendments Program Act of 2020, S. 910, often called the Sea Grant Reauthorization Bill.
Congresswoman Amata cosponsored the House version of the same priority (the National Sea Grant College Program Amendments Act of 2019, HR 2405), and voted for it in the House National Resources Committee.
