Pago Pago – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming a federal funding notice received Tuesday from the U.S. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) totaling $1,413,520 from the Fiscal Year 2023 Appropriations Act signed into law on December 29, 2022.

The largest of the three grants is a Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) of $1,029,433, along with a HOME program grant of $298,791, and an Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) of $85,296.

Pago Pago – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata along with her office’s Chief of Staff Leafaina Yahn, District Director High Chief Pulu Ae Ae, Jr., and District Office Manager and Executive Assistant Ola Foster, toured the CGC Juniper in Pago Pago Harbor, and met Thursday with Admiral Michael Day, Commander of the 14^th District, and the Juniper’s commanding officer Lt. Commander Timothy Bonner, with other officers and personnel of the U.S. Coast Guard on board.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is hailing the U.S. Department of Defense decision to restore the students from American Samoa to the National Guard Youth Challenge Academy in Hawai’i.

Washington, DC – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming notice of $431,794 in federal funds for American Samoa's criminal justice system. This grant is awarded under the Bipartisan Safer Communities Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2022, signed into Public Law 117-159 last June.
