Washington D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata participated in a House Small Business Committee hearing entitled: Building an Opportunity Economy: The State of Small Business and Entrepreneurship.

Washington, DC- Congresswoman Aumua Amata participated in two Joint Congressional Veterans Committee hearings this week. Both hearings were dedicated to the legislative agendas of two important veteran advocacy organizations for the 114th Congress. The first hearing focused on the agenda presented by Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and the second on the priorities of the American Legion.

Washington, DC- Tuesday,Congresswoman Aumua Amata announced that for the first time, High School students from American Samoa will have the opportunity to participate in this year's Congressional Art Competition- An Artistic Discovery.

Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Aumua Amata was notified by the West Point Admissions Office that they are offering an appointment to Miss Taylor Va'alele Jessop to be a Member of the Class of 2019. Taylor is the daughter of Tricia and Douglas Jessop, Jr. of Gataivai and Faga'alu and a student at South Pacific Academy. She is also the granddaughter of Sonny and Vera Thompson and Douglas and Helen Jessop.
