Washington D.C. -- Congresswoman Aumua Amata participated today in a House VA Committee Hearing entitled, "U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Budget Request for Fiscal Year 2016".
During the hearing, VA Secretary, Robert McDonald spoke about the VA's budget request for FY 2016 and certain structural changes happening within the VA that will increase efficiency and refocus VA efforts on serving veterans.

Washington D.C. -- Congresswoman Aumua Amata signed on to a letter with 84 other House Members to call for a quick resolution to negotiations between the International Longshore Warehouse Union and the Pacific Maritime Association.

Washington D.C. -- Congresswoman Aumua Amata was informed this week by the Disaster Response Chief, Congressional Affairs Division, that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a Federal grant in the amount of $3,267,000 for American Samoa. This funding will go to the Rock Fall Mitigation Project.
