Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is urging the federal government to uphold the important Buy American policy when purchasing tuna. Tuna that is canned in American Samoa is American made, and Amata urged the Biden Administration not to make an exception to the U.S. government’s Buy American policy when purchasing tuna for the National School Lunch Program.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming about $1.3  million ($1,293,165) for American Samoa's airports in new federal infrastructure grants from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), also known as the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, recently passed by Congress and signed into law November 15, 2021, by President Biden.
