Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata welcomed bipartisan House passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2022, which will raise military pay by 2.7 percent. The House passed the bill by a vote of 363-70 with the support of 194 Republicans and 169 Democrats, and the bill now goes to the Senate for final approval.
Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming $200,000 in federal health services funds for the American Samoa Department of Health for home visiting efforts. These funds are from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus signed into law on March 11, 2021.

Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is welcoming a prompt bipartisan vote in the U.S. Senate, only hours after the House vote Thursday, that fully funds the U.S. government through February 18, 2022, sending the bill to President Biden to be signed into law in time to prevent a shutdown. Without action, a shutdown would have started over the weekend and could have led to reduced nonessential services.
