Washington, DC – Monday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata announced that the full Committee on Natural Resources will be holding an upcoming oversight hearing on the topic of the Insular Areas Medicaid Cliff.

"This is an important and timely topic for American Samoa," said Aumua Amata. "I appreciate the leadership of the Natural Resources Committee devoting this hearing to our insular areas and Medicaid, including my friend, Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, who serves as Vice Chairman for Insular Affairs."

Washington, DC – Monday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata is welcoming federal funds through the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for a broadband study in American Samoa to aid in economic development strategy.

"Broadband capabilities can be a valuable tool for small businesses and job creation," said Aumua Amata. "Our economic future in American Samoa will benefit from growth in areas of communications and technology access, so I'm pleased to welcome this timely study."

Washington, DC – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata is welcoming federal funds for water infrastructure from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). A grant of $154,000 is available to American Samoa through the program, which works to provide improved drinking water throughout the country. The legislation providing for these specific EPA programs are a result of the Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act (WIIN Act).
