Washington, D.C. –Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded American Samoa two grants worth over $1.7million.

American Samoa will receive $857,600 from the State Homeland Security Program. This program provides funding to implement planning, organization, equipment, training, and exercise needs to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from catastrophic events.

Washington, DC –Wednesday,Congresswoman Aumua Amata, was pleased to announce the awarding of $212,800 in technical assistance funding from the Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs. The funding will be used for three initiatives to improve healthcare on the island.
