Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata welcomed notification of several grants for youth education efforts in insular areas from the Interior Department's Office of Insular Affairs (OIA), along with a grant for linemen training.
Washington, D.C. – Tuesday, Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata announced she has teamed up with Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan (CNMI) for the reintroduction of their bipartisan Northern Mariana Islands and American Samoa College Access Act, which would provide much-needed tuition assistance to students in the islands.
Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata welcomed a major grant of $1,590,738 for American Samoa's Head Start program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
The substantial grant from HHS is part of its emergency supplemental funding program for Head Start programs across the country. It will go to help the American Samoa Department of Education (ASDOE) administer its crucial programs for early childhood education and other health programs for low-income children and families.

Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Uifa'atali Amata welcomed a grant of over $400,000 for American Samoa's Head Start program through the U.S. Health and Human Services Department (HHS).
Specifically, the discretionary grant of $400,891 is directed to the American Samoa Department of Education, and designated for Head Start as emergency supplemental funding. These federal funds are distributed through the Administration for Children and Families.

This year's first-place winner is Martin Peresetene of Leone High School, and his art will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for a year. The second-place winner is Annamarie Luteru, Leone High School. The third-place winner is Maria Kim, Samoana High School.

The United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, has notified Congresswoman Amata, joining previous offers of a fully qualified appointment from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado, and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.
