Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata took part in an international field hearing of the Committee on Natural Resources on August 24^th in Guam, led by Committee Chairman Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.), examining the importance of the U.S. Pacific Territories and the Freely Associated States (FAS) to the United States’ ability to counter the People’s Republic of China’s malign influence, and maintain national and allied strategic interests in the region.

Canberra, Australia – Congresswoman Uifa’atali Amata is taking part in a Congressional Delegation to Australia led by Chairman Mike Gallagher of the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, in which the Members of Congress participated in the Australian American Leadership Dialogue (AALD), and bolstered the AUKUS alliance, a security pact among Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States that is key to Pacific security and stability.
