Washington, D.C. – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed a total of $535,000 in federal funding for two health-related programs in American Samoa.

"Federal funds like these are especially necessary to American Samoa's efforts to provide as many health services as possible," said Aumua Amata. "I appreciate these federal resources, including $285,000 for our health programs and another $250,000 for mental health and opioid services."

Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed over $23.3 million in federal resources to American Samoa for much-needed airport renovation projects to improve the pavement.

"This is a sizable grant for our Pago Pago International Airport, and it is great news for us this week," said Aumua Amata. "I'm especially pleased to welcome this important federal support to preserve and enhance our airport. Our airport is our primary connection to the United States and the rest of the Pacific, and it is essential to keep it in good repair."

Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata voted for the Restore Our Parks and Public Lands Act, H.R. 6510, which she cosponsored. This legislation provides funding to reduce maintenance backlogs and support restorative efforts at National Parks and wildlife refuges. The bill, introduced by Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rob Bishop (R-Utah) with substantial bipartisan backing, was passed Thursday by the Natural Resources Committee.

Washington, D.C. – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed $657,646 in federal funds through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security for a variety of tsunami preparations.

"This grant will provide funding for the American Samoa Tsunami Ready Sustainment Initiative," said Aumua Amata. "NOAA recognized the importance for American Samoa's systems and personnel to be ready for action in the event of a tsunami."
