Washington, D.C. – This week, Congresswoman Aumua Amata took part in a variety of hearings, including examining a fishing report by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), reviewing efforts to protect Veterans from online fraud, along with hearings on supporting rural and remote small businesses, and updating child protection services in Native American communities.
Washington, D.C. – Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata highlighted House passage this week of two bipartisan bills providing for special honors with commemorative coins, both of which she cosponsored. H.R. 1865 honors our nation's law enforcement community with a National Law Enforcement Museum Commemorative Coin, and H.R. 2423 creates the Women's Suffrage Centennial Commemorative Coin to honor the 100-year anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment guaranteeing the right to vote for women citizens in the United States.

Washington, D.C. – Monday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata announced she is cosponsoring the effort to protect the U.S. flag through a Constitutional Amendment.

Washington, DC – Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata hailed the success of a bipartisan request to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regarding its administrative rules which placed undue constraints on Compact of Freely Associated States migrants seeking to obtain REAL IDs. The DHS has responded with a change in those requirements to remove unnecessary barriers to the benefit of those living or working in the U.S. from these valued Pacific allies.

Washington, D.C.—Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata welcomed the opportunity this week to discuss American Samoa's needs, and highlight the islands to a Senate CODEL that came through Pago Pago International Airport in Tafuna. Amata welcomed the flight upon arrival at the airport, and discussed the status of several important issues with five leading Senators.

Washington, DC – Wednesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata highlighted the Taiwan Relations Act, and gave remarks at a Capitol event celebrating 40 years of this important legislation.
