Pago Pago –Sunday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, met with the local Chamber of Commerce last week to discuss some of the things happening in Washington that affect the local economy, and what Congress is doing to help the nation’s small businesses, including those American Samoa.

Washington, D.C. –Tuesday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, issued the following statement into the Congressional Record this week in recognition of International Women’s Day 2016:
MS. RADEWAGEN: Mr. Speaker, I rise today to recognize International Women’s Day. Officially, we began to recognize International Women’s Day in 1977, but its roots can be traced back to the early 20th Century.
We use the day to recognize the contributions that women have made to our society, and to bring awareness to the continuing inequality between the genders.

Washington, D.C. –Friday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, joined First Lady Michelle Obama, and her fellow Members of Congress earlier this week in Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol Building to honor and recognize our women veterans.
Washington, D.C. –Thursday, Congresswoman Aumua Amata, the House Committee on Natural Resources conducted an oversight hearing on Tuesday to examine the Department of the Interior’s Spending Priorities and the President’s Fiscal Year 2017 Budget Proposal.
